GAMEBOUNTY/Site FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Are the games really free?

Yes. There's no paid tier, no premium account, no "fast download" upsell. The site is free to use, and we don't sell any product around it.

Do I need an account?

No. There's no sign-up.

Can I play these games online or in multiplayer?

Generally, no for ranked or matchmade online play. Most games here are single-player or local co-op only.

Some titles ship with an "online fix" that restores LAN or co-op play between cracked copies. If a game supports this, it'll be mentioned in the game's description or in the README.html inside the extracted folder.

Where are my save files?

It depends on the game. The most common locations are:

  • Documents\<game name> or Documents\My Games\<game name>
  • %APPDATA%\<game name> (paste that into the address bar)
  • %LOCALAPPDATA%\<game name>
  • Inside the game folder itself

If you want to back up your saves, check those four locations.

Can I keep playing after I update Windows / move to a new PC?

Yes. The whole game folder is portable — copy it to your new drive or PC and run the launcher. Saves stored under Documents or %APPDATA% need to be copied separately if you want to keep your progress.

Can I delete the downloaded .rar files after extraction?

Yes. Once the game is extracted and runs, the archive parts can be deleted to free up space.

How do I update a game to a newer version?

Updates appear as new releases on the site. Open the game page and look for a newer build — if there's one, download it and re-extract over (or alongside) your existing copy. Saves stored outside the game folder are kept; saves stored inside the game folder should be backed up first.

A mirror is down. What do I do?

  • Try a different mirror on the same download page — they all contain the same game.
  • If every mirror is broken, report it in #broken-links on the Discord.

A game I want isn't on the site. Can I request it?

Yes — use the Request a Game page or post in #requests on Discord.

My antivirus deleted a file from the game folder. Now what?

That's the cracked launcher being flagged as a generic threat. Restore it from your AV's quarantine, then add the game folder to AV exclusions before running the game again. See Installation → Antivirus exclusions.

The game asks me to "Buy" or "Sign in to Steam". What's wrong?

Either the game wasn't extracted correctly, or your antivirus deleted the cracked DLL. Re-extract into a folder that's already excluded from your antivirus.

Can I use a controller?

Yes — Xbox controllers are plug-and-play. For PlayStation or generic controllers, install DS4Windows, which makes them appear to games as an Xbox 360 controller.

Will these games run on Steam Deck or Linux?

Many do, but it varies by title. Most run via Proton if you add the game's .exe to Steam as a non-Steam game, then force a recent Proton version under properties. Anti-cheat-protected multiplayer games typically don't work, but cracked games from this site usually have anti-cheat removed and tend to be more Proton-friendly. There's no official support — try it and ask in Discord if you hit issues.

How big are the downloads?

The exact size of every release is shown on its download page. Repacks are typically 30–60% smaller than the original Scene release; pre-installs are full size. Make sure you have free space for both the archive and the extracted game during installation.

Do you sell anything? Is there a paid version?

No. If anyone offers you "premium GameBounty access," a launcher, or paid mirrors, they're not us. Report them on Discord.
